Manufacturing Engineering Specialist

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Specialist for our Peterborough, Ontario site. The successful candidate will be responsible for estimating and executing manufacturing projects, creating detailed cost estimates, planning work, and writing work packages. The role requires strong communication skills, technical knowledge of manufacturing and manufacturability, and the ability to influence design to reduce cost and schedule while improving quality.

Requirements

• College/University graduate in an Engineering discipline OR a certificate in a skilled trade.
• 10- 15+ Years of manufacturing planning experience in custom engineered equipment industry
• Knowledge and experience with machining (conventional + CNC/CAM), fitting/welding, assembly and materials including stainless steels, Al-bronze, nickel alloys, zirconium, etc.
• Experience with instrumentation and control equipment, PLCs, automation, wiring diagrams, electrical schematics.
• Knowledge or experience with metrology, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances (GD&T), blue print reading.
• High level of proficiency with data analysis and management including spreadsheet tools, MRP systems, etc.
• Demonstrated ability in project planning / execution, including development of processes / procedures and process improvements.
• Very strong communication and interpersonal skills
