Lead System Administrator position at Braze in Chicago, responsible for technical escalation, reliability, security, and operational excellence of IT services. Responsibilities include incident response, root cause analysis, automation, and process improvements, as well as mentorship and subject matter expertise. The ideal candidate has experience with SaaS platforms, virtualization, cloud environments, and scripting. Bonus qualifications include ITIL Foundation certification and experience managing cloud infrastructure.
Requirements
- Serves as the primary escalation point for the Service Desk to investigate and resolve complex technical issues
- Owns the maintenance, configuration, availability, and business continuity of core IT services
- Acts as Incident Manager or partner closely with Incident Management during service outages, and security incidents, ensuring clear and timely communication to the business
- Identifies recurring issues, defines corrective actions, and implements long-term solutions
- Provides advanced support for Google Workspace, including email delivery, permissions, security issues, and service integrations
- Supports escalated issues across Zscaler, macOS, networking, Google Workspace, and Okta
- Troubleshoots and maintains integrations of IT SaaS such as; Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, Zscaler and Iru
- Serves as Tier 3 support for macOS, hardware, and network-related issues
- Designs, writes, and maintains custom scripts or applications to improve system efficiency and reduce manual effort
- Creates and maintains IT documentation and contributes to the Knowledge Base
- Manages vendor relationships for IT services and tools
- Investigates and remediates security-related issues across Gmail, Slack, and Okta
- Mentors team members and promotes IT best practices across the organization
