Portfolio Analytics, Senior Associate

As a Portfolio Analytics Senior Associate at Barings, you will contribute to operational effectiveness and efficiency, leveraging technology-based solutions to streamline efficiencies, enable insightful program-level reporting, and support the reduction of investment and operational risk. The role involves performing routine data cleansing/pre-processing, supporting the maintenance of a proprietary portfolio monitoring database, and identifying process improvement solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (business and/or data science/analytics related) with 2 - 4 years of experience in data management within a financial context;
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in data analysis or reporting;
• Experience with data visualization tools & best practices;
• Strong knowledge of and experience with analytic tools and programming languages (Python/R, and SQL with VBA a plus);
• Excellent command and proficiency of MS excel;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, well-organized, self-starter, and able to multitask and deliver work products on short timeframes;
• Willingness to learn and absorb complex lending structures and legal documents and translate economic and risk factors to financial models and tools used to manage the overall portfolio;
• Experience with synthesizing and visualizing data for presentations;
• Ability and openness to understanding operational, accounting, and legal aspects of investments;
• Demonstrated interest in and experience with operational enablement through technology;
• Excellent documentation and communication skills;
• Control focused and attentive to detail;
